Prized Brisbane Roar recruit Brett Holman is tipped to debut for his new side against the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland U23 Select squad at QSAC on Saturday.
The former Caltex Socceroos star is in line for his first minutes in orange and teammate Brandon Borrello believes Holman’s creativity and leadership will benefit will Brisbane’s attack.
“He’s definitely a type of player that every team wants. It just adds to the attacking force,” Borrello said.
“I’m the guy that makes the runs in behind and finishes the attack but he’s the creator.
“He will be in the middle getting the ball and dictating play. We need that kind of player in the middle of the park so it’s great to have him.”

Borrello, 21, starred for Brisbane Roar Youth in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland before cementing his place at Hyundai A-League level over the past two seasons.
The livewire attacker will come up against several former Young Roar teammates in the U23 Select squad including the likes of Mitchell Hore, Sam Cronin, Luke Pavlou and Ben Litfin, who will captain the team.
Borrello says he learnt valuable lessons while playing for Young Roar in the national second tier.
“I enjoyed my time in the NPL and I believe it only helps develop players,” he said.
“It gave me an introduction into senior football and I think it’s great for every up and coming player.”
