Big Progress For Advanced Coaching Courses

Monday, 23 January 2012

2012 will see a continued strong push by Football Queensland to provide advanced coach education for local coaches after an extremely successful launch into the area in 2011.

There are two coaching pathways currently offered to potential coaches in Australia, those being the Community Pathway and the Elite Pathway. The AFC C Licence is step one in the Elite Pathway, before coaches can progress onto B Licence, A Licence and eventually pro licences.

This week sees the first Queensland located live-in AFC B License course at Perry Park under the guidance of Instructors Rob Sherman and Queensland’s David Abela. The course was so popular that and FFA agreed to take 30 candidates for this event. This adds to the three AFC C License courses Football Queensland were able to schedule over 2011 and the recently completed regional C License course in Townsville.

FUTSAL TOOWOOMBA - Referee Awards 2011

FUTSAL TOOWOOMBA - Referee Awards 2011

Futsal Toowoomba recently presented a number of awards in recognition of the performances of the referees in the local Futsal competitions.

“ As we finished the 2011 year, I have to say how proud we are of the referees. Their standards were high and the quality of what they delivered was constantly mentioned to me by parents and players. I have witnessed parents cheering for a referee at the end of a game. I didn't think such a thing was possible! I thank all those involved ......being firstly the referees, our referee manager (Sunny Afshar) and our referee appointments officer (Nel Cooper). They have laid a great foundation for the future. I'm also proud that our committee is determined to create a positive and safe environment for new referees to learn in.

Congratulations to Stephen Potticary who was awarded the "Referee of the Tournament" and also to Adam Liesch who was awarded the "Referee Encouragement Award".

Football Queensland Apparel Marketing Scheme

Tuesday, 24 January 2012

Clubs have previously been advised that the Board of Football Queensland has made application for review to the Australian Competition Tribunal of the decision from the ACCC which protects Football Queensland from prosecution in operating the marketing scheme.

We do not have a calendar for this process and therefore advise the marketing scheme continues to operate until a decision is forthcoming, that is “team wear” and footballs are to be purchased through Licensees or their authorised suppliers.
