Queensland based referee Jacqui Melksham has been appointed to the panel of match officials for the Under 20s World Cup due to be held in Germany from 13 July to 1 August 2010.

The reward for Jacqui comes after her efforts in officiating at Westfield W-League, Hyundai Queensland State League and Veto Brisbane Premier League levels over the past 12 years. She was awarded a FIFA Referee badge in 2004 and is also on the AFC Elite Womens Referees Panel. She will be joined by fellow Australian officials Allyson Flynn from Canberra and Sarah Ho from Sydney.

Queensland referees have done themselves proud at the recent Under 14 and Under 15 National Youth Championships, with exceptional performances culminating in numerous appointments in the finals games.

Perth was recently host to the National Secondary Schools U19 Championships. 

For referees, the tournament is used as a part of the talent identification process for future Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League referees.

Two young Queensland referees have been selected by Football Federation Australia to be a part of the Asian Football Confederation Future Course.

University student Casey Reibelt and solicitor Rebecca Durcau, both 21-years-old, were selected from nominations all over Australia.
