Changes for OSSF in 2010
Football Queensland has recently been advised of some minor changes to the 2010 formats for Optus Small-Sided Football.
Football Federation Australia has made these changes following feedback and talking to some associations and clubs. The changes refer to the standardising of penalty area sizes across the age groups and a better progression for the duration of matches.
FQ confirms that, in Queensland, the implementation in 2010 will continue to include the Under 10 age group as the highest age group.
FQ trusts that the early notification of these changes will not cause any problems. FQ will be in contact with FFA over the coming weeks to check on the supply of the educational resources and will advise of those timings as soon as possible.

Small-Sided Football General Information
In 2009, FFA in conjunction with Member Federations, Zones Associations and Clubs will continue the roll out of Small-Sided Games, now known as Optus Small-Sided Football. FFA is delighted to welcome Optus to the team, as the official partner of the Game Development Program, a key component of FFA’s national strategic framework to improve football at all levels of the game. In 2008 Optus Small-Sided Football was implemented in varying age groups to over 70,000 children in all Member Federations. In 2009 FFA is working very closely with all Member Federations to ensure Optus Small-Sided Football formats are implemented as a minimum in the Under 6 to 8 age groups. Due to the success of the 2008 experience, many Member Federations, Zones and Associations have accelerated this implementation process to include the Under 9, 10 and some up to Under 12 age groups or shown intent to do so in the following years. FFA fully supports the decision by the Member Federations that have chosen to accelerate the implementation of Optus Small-Sided Football.
